CONTINUOUS LEARNING ADVANCE PROGRAMING ORIGINS
Since 1991, I have worked as a foreign language teacher and as a consecutive and simultaneous interpreter for a number of leading companies in both Caracas, Venezuela, and Madrid, Spain, including AT&T, Airbus, Kugen Nagel and Sundine Acuadine, amongst many others, through service providers and language schools.
Since 2017, I have been a member of the prestigious Oxford Teachers Club, run by Oxford University Press, where I have been able to research the various cognitive and linguistic challenges involved in learning English during my teaching hours.
I could detect the difficulty Spaniards have, stemming from their oral resonating chamber (the oral cavity), in articulating the ‘Z’ and ‘S’ sounds – which are consonants that do not correspond to the pronunciation of the English language – as well as the difficulty with what I refer to as ‘vibrant consonants’, ‘infinite consonants’ and “percussive consonants”, and the ability to readjust breathing patterns, thereby debunking the great myth perpetuated by language schools that it is difficult for Spanish speakers to learn English. This results in a learning process that is not subject to the commercialism of repetitive, expensive courses that yield few results over many years.
The application of neurolinguistics and psycholinguistics as a means of reprogramming thought and cognitive structures in the process of learning English led to the development of the CLAP method.
